(I had the uniquely bizarre experience today of having a TC reader send me a link to a story I had written myself for Joystiq, so I thought I would share the with the rest of the TC community — it is clearly relevant!)
Bob Sabiston from Flat Black Films informed me that the long-awaited DSiWare animation app, Inchworm Animation, will be available in America for five bucks on April 25. The basically insane program lets you draw or use the camera to make stop-motion animation, rotoscope (by drawing on top of captured video), make images up to 9999x9999, export through the SD slot, and more. It appears to be an absurdly powerful tool, especially for DS, and especially for five dollars!
You can see more features, along with example images, here.

man, i really wish there was some way i could double-like this. if you have a DSi, it’s definitely worth the five bones. i’ve been waiting for this for a while.
(fyi, the company who made this app are the animators from waking life and a scanner darkly. so, good pedigree.)
